A first thermoacoustic prototype with a thermal capacity of 240W was developed in partnership with TNO as proof of concept
Founded in Alkmaar as a spinoff from TNO, we set out with the goal to develop a thermoacoustic engine to generate heat and cold that could be produced at scale and sold to heat pump manufactureres
A joint effort of BlueHeart Energy & TNO was required to build a first working prototype and scale it’s thermal capacity to 1kW

BlueHeart is an innovative thermo-acoustic engine that replaces traditional compression technology in heat pumps and other climate systems. It operates using sound waves and helium rather than moving parts or F-gases. As a result, the system is silent, maintenance-free and completely emission-free – while providing both heating and cooling with high efficiency.
